Our super durable crew medium weight socks is built on the same 100% merino wool body yarn as our classic hiking sock - but with one critical upgrade: “UHMWPE-reinforced toe and heel areas.” UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene) is one of the most abrasion-resistant fibers on earth - used in body armor and industrial rope. We use it where your socks need it most.
